V. Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Lead-in
Say hi to every students and students watch a film clip concerning some ways of greeting and then ask two questions: What kind of greeting ways do you like best? How many ways do you know about greeting? Then show students your favorite greeting way and then lead in the topic.
Step 2 Pre-listening
Teacher shows some pictures about different ways of greeting, and teaches students to read these words.
Step 3 While-listening
Teacher will play the recorder twice to improve their listening ability.
1. Extensive Listening
Teacher gives students questions. Students listen to the passage and catch the main idea.
Teacher checks the main idea with students.
2. Intensive Listening
Students listen to the passage again. Teacher asks students to listen to the tape again and finish the True or False task in the textbook.
Step 4 Post-listening
Students work in pairs to do a group discussion. Teacher divides students into several groups,and each group includes four students. Students need to do a survey and use the conversation that we just learned.
Step 5 Summary & Homework
Students summarize what they have learned in this lesson by themselves and retell what they have learned to their parents as homework.
